We continue to come back every time we stay in Melbourne because we love it so much . It’s an iconic original property with loads of interesting history . Super quirky styling with loads of fantastic original artwork . Situated in a great location close to bars restaurants coffee shops . Walking distance to St Kilda beach, Acland Street and the Esplanade . Tram stops right on your doorstep taking you into the cbd. We find it always spotlessly clean . Seriously it’s difficult to find places like this in Melbourne. I hope it never changes because its authenticity is what keeps bringing us back again and again . We love seeing Mirka’s beautiful artwork adorning the entrance and Corridors . Beds are comfortable with clean crisp sheets . Coffee tea making facilities . great Value for money . Parking available close to the hotel .

Tolarno's Hotel was owned by the artist family Mora, well-known in Melbourne. The deep blue walls of the entrance, hall ways and restaurant are covered by wonderful paintings or, in the case of the restaurant, the angel paintings of Mirka Mora. There were two significant paintings in my room, both expressive of a rich cultural life of Melbourne. Thoughtful and energising. There is no room-service but I found no need to change things in my three nights there. The staff are available during the day and are helpful, even helping me by hauling my suitcase up the stairs (no elevator) and Fitzroy street is full of life and wonderful cafes and restaurants - from casual to classy. The beach is just down the street and the area is served by two tram lines making transport to Southern Cross Station for trains very easy. Love it

Located in St. Kilda. Great Artwork in the hallway and room. Convenient location, walking distance to restaurants, pubs and entertainment. Tram in front of hotel as well as buses a few minutes walk only. Terrific friendly staff. We managed to leave our luggages prior check-in and the staff very accomodating. I would like to acknowledge Eric (tall guy) who organised everything for us, he is truly a great asset to the Hotel. Very friendly and made our stay enjoyable.

Location is incredible, awesome restaurants within short walking distance, the beach is a 5 minute walk and supermarket 150m away. Location is what makes this a perfect stay. Make sure you ask for a balcony room, well worth it and nice to sit and watch the world go by on Fitzroy. If you want peace and quiet, the double glazing is amazing and you dont get any street noise. Will definately stay again

Location is fabulous, easy walk to restaurants and the beach, tram to the city is outside the door. It's a quirky hotel full of art and character. Our room was quiet, at the back of the hotel, and nice for winter as it had NE and NW facing windows. Could be hot in the summer. Bed was comfortable and shower was great, bathroom more spacious than some of their other rooms.
